Woopy Jumping - The Newest Extreme Sport of Woopy Jumping!
By Patrick Brady

Woopy Jumping is a new, and very exciting extreme sport. It is a mixture of skiing or snowboarding with the added twist that you can fly through the air like a bird! The basic idea is that the skiier/snowboarder uses a wing similar to a hang-glider, but less cumbersome, as he whips down a mountain or hill. As the rider moves down the hill, the speed eventually gets to a point where he can jump and glide for very long distances and gracefully soar through the air. The feeling would be somewhat similar to kitesurfing if you're familiar with that, however, the difference is that glide times can be much longer and there are no long kite lines to deal with.

By Robert G Murray

If you want to learn to kiteboard yet find yourself wondering if you are old enough, light enough, heavy enough, or tall enough, rest assured you can. There is no required height, age, size, sex, or gender to do this sport - anyone can do it, and here are the two main reasons why.

1. The Power of the Kite is Balanced by Proper Posture and Good Form, Not Brute Strength

Parachuting Or Skydiving For You?
By Matthew Anderson

If you have a hard time understanding exactly what people mean when they talk about "skydiving", here are some simple explanations that will help you. There are a number of extreme sports that involve jumping from a plane, such as base jumping, parachuting and skydiving. Is there a difference between them? Parachuting and skydiving both mean that the person who jumps from the airplane (from thousands of feet in the sky) with a deployed parachute that allows them to slow their descent and land on the ground safely.

The sport of parachuting, however, is designed so that the parachute opens almost immediately after the jumper leaves the plane, so that the entire descent is a gradual drift downwards with the parachute slowing the descent.

Army Skydiving Gave Us Sports Skydiving
By Matthew Anderson

We look upon skydiving as a fun sport nowadays, but it all began as a military solution to a problem. If you read your history of skydiving, you will see many of the important milestones of the sport, but it all started in the army.

During World War II, the military had to deploy troops into inland areas to fight the enemy, sometimes even behind enemy lines. Needless to say, they could not just march up to the battle lines, they had to be put in some other way.

Paratroopers were dropped onto the ground from airplanes and this is the beginning of skydiving as a sport. Even though those initial divers did not have the equipment we have today to make the sport safer, many of these ex army guys decided they liked the experience well enough to continue it as a sport after their army duty was done.

p>There Are Things You Should Know About Extreme Sports
By Wendy Stenberg-Tendys

Extreme sports tend to push the limitations of the human body in order to cope with extraordinary conditions. This requires a high level of physical exertion and the necessity of facing the possibility of death. It would seem at times, that extreme sport appears to defy scientific laws. Extreme sports have become the domain of clever advertising marketers and clothes and equipment designers and is as varied as their imagination.

Extreme sports have formed a sub-culture which has a cult-type following. It is a sport aimed at the wealthy, adrenalin pushing and thrill-seeking dissatisfied younger generation. A sport the marketing gurus quickly predicted as being a Blue Moon Opportunity, (once in a lifetime opportunity).

Snowkiting, Extreme Sport

The evolution of snowkiting

Adults love inventing new toys for themselves. They learnt to fly with paragliding. Then kites from their childhood were transformed into giant and more powerful ones. Surfers and windsurfers beheld these huge wings with envy before attaching them to their boards. Exit windsurfing, enter kitesurfing.

A kiter is connected to his kite through a system of strings and directs the kite with a bar quite similar to a windsurfing bar. A new terrain has now opened up, flying high, doing jumps and tricks were now possible. Snowboarders and skiers very soon cottoned on. With the help of a kite, they could go uphill without using ski lifts, gaining access to fields of virgin snow. Snowkiting easily downgraded skiing and snowboarding to mainstream sports. Snowkiting goes back to the 1980s, but not one single person can be given credit for its creation, as those who claim the stakes are numerous. Several people probably tried the same thing at similar times in different places. Logically, the invention can only be awarded to a group of dedicated pioneers.
