Switzerland in Summer
By Edward Ockelton

When you think of Switzerland in summer, do you think of walking, mountain flowers and cows with bells? Probably yes, but Switzerland in summer has much more to offer than this. It is an ideal destination for everyone from extreme sport junkies to young families.

Morgins, just south of Lake Geneva is a good example of a Swiss village offering everything from the most extreme mountain activities, to quiet family holidays.

The village is a quiet, traditional Swiss village, a ski resort in winter, but in summer offers mountain biking, walking, paragliding and high altitude hiking plus lots of activities for families - a lovely outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor tennis, archery, clay pigeon shooting, and miles of walking. There is a lovely river walk with covered barbecue areas, summer markets and festivals with spectacular firework displays echoing off the mountains. Everywhere you walk, you can hear the cow bells, with the farmers bringing the milk to the village each morning.

Vacation Destination: Canada's Western National Parks
by Judith Schwader

We watched in dismay, the dark clouds massing at an alarming rate above the granite peaks of the Canadian Rockies in Jasper National Park. An afternoon rain shower was brewing, and it was going to start pouring before we could return to our campsite on the Kicking Horse River.

Fortunately, Canada's western parks have a strict bare camp policy due to the presence of grizzly bears, meaning that almost everything has to be stowed away before leaving camp. There was nothing laying around our site that could be damaged by rain, so we decided not to worry about the change in weather.

Nova Scotia's Beaches - How They Are Different
By Gary Machado

Nova Scotia, with its over 2100 miles of shoreline, has more than a few beaches. In fact, the Canadian province has more than 120 of them.

But not all the beaches are "people friendly."

Nova Scotia's beaches can be roughly divided into two types: too cold to swim, or warm enough to swim.

The beaches on the southern coast as well as those on the bay of Fundy, have proven themselves to be too cold for the average person to swim in. This part of the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Fundy Bay, are both under the influence of the cold Labrador Current as it makes its way south, keeping the waters relatively cold.

New Zealand Cycling - Why Spend Vacations on a Bike?
By Beate Cisse

Discover that New Zealand cycling vacation is a terrific way to travel a country famed for being clean and green.

It is a small country with a great infrastructure. With 4.3 million inhabitants, spread over 268,676 square km, the country has a low population density that is the lowest in the south. One third of the total number living in and around Auckland make this the country's biggest city. Only one million people live scattered on the entire South Island. The highest traffic volume therefore is found in Auckland and on connecting highways. All in all there is plenty of scarcely disrupted cycling bliss.

Both Islands have beautiful locations. Although some believe the South Island is the place to choose if there is only a limited time at hand. An opinion reflected in the fact that most touristy cycling packages are located in the south.
