Description:
Off the normal tourist routes, Adventure Cotahuasi Tours offers planned and custom itineraries that include trekking and non-technical mountain climbing, exploring ancient Inca and pre- Inca ruins and trails, soaking in hot springs, visiting traditional highland villages, seeing the people working in terraced fields, and homes stays and visits with indigenous Quechua families. The people are very open, hospitable and hard working, but poor. The work is mostly done by hand, with the help of bulls, mules and burros, as it has been done for centuries. You will see a part of Peru that few tourists see, while enjoying the advantages of an English speaking American guide that knows the area better than most of the locals. Of course you will see llamas, alpacas, most likely condors and possibly viscachas and vicunas.
If you are ready for a "Haven't been there, haven't done that" trip, come with us to explore Cotahuasi Canyon and have an adventure that you can talk about for years to come.
